In November 2021, the KDP worked with an organization called Contest Every Race (CER) to help recruit candidates to run for offices up-and-down the ticket in 2022. Among the results that CER provided at the end of the program are individuals who were willing to help get Democrats elected even if they themselves do not want to run for office.

To make it easier for county parties and campaigns to access these individuals, the results were matched to the Kentucky Voter File with a survey question created to identify these voters. These were subsequently saved into a list that was then used to create a Target category in Votebuilder. Users can access these individuals under Targets by selecting "KYDP - Contest Every Race: 2021: CER Volunteer Leads".

            USE CASES

This target has been made available to help county parties and campaigns to engage potential volunteers and build their capacity.

A county party, for instance, can use this target to help fill open seats on the committee or recruit volunteers to help at events.

For campaigns, this target can be treated as a "WARM LEAD", meaning that these individuals have already been contacted and have said yes to volunteering. Knowing this, the campaign can prioritize reaching out to these individuals to ask them to volunteers to help the campaigns to grow capacity.
