With help from the DNC Tech Team, the KDP has been able to compare the most recent voter file updates with past ones to identify those voters who have changed parties.
Once these have been identified in the analytics warehouse, these voters are sent to a saved list in Votebuilder to create the "Party Switchers" target.
To start the target, all party changes between March 2018 and April 2021 (the latest voter file update) have been combined and assigned their individual targets, as shown below. To allow users to see who has switched and from which party, the targets that have been created are as follows:
Moving forward, with each voter file update, additional targets will be created to identify during which update the switch occurred. For instance, a party switch identified on the June 2021 file will be called: "Party Switchers: June 2021 - December 2021: Voter File Date: _______ to ______". For those Republicans who switched to Democrats between the April 2021 and June 2021 update, that target will appear as: "Party Switchers: June 2021 - December 2021: 2021-06-25: Republicans to Democrats".
