Looking for Someone in My Campaign, Creating a My Campaign Record

Each person who has volunteered or expressed interest in your campaign should have a record in My Campaign. This is where you will store information about their engagement with your campaign. A My Campaign record can be created multiple ways.

If you’re looking to create a single My Campaign record follow these steps:

Step 1: Ensure you are in My Campaign by clicking the “My Campaign” button on the top left hand corner of the screen.

Step 2: Click “Quick Look Up.”

Step 3: Type in the person’s information.

Step 4: Try different combinations of information and different spellings if you can’t find the person you are looking for right away. Check by using all pieces contact information and all possible combinations (name only, street address only, last name + zip code) before proceeding. If the person is not yet in My Campaign, your screen will look like this, showing “No Results Found.”

Step 5: If you can’t find the person, click on “Search My Voter File.” This performs a search on all registered Maine voters using the information you specified.

Step 6: Look for the person among the possible matches. Name, address and city must match the My Voter record. If you find such a match, click on the radio button next to that record and click “Copy Person.” This copies the voter’s information into My Campaign and creates a My Campaign Record.

  1. Do NOT link records that you are not sure about (be careful of Jrs/Srs).

  2. You must have first and last name and at least one piece of contact information (phone number or email address) to copy them into My Campaign.

Step 7: You will be brought to the person’s newly created My Campaign Record. As you scroll down, you will be able to access information about this person.

Step 8HOWEVER, if at Step #6, you were unable to find anyone who has the same name, address, and city, you’ll need to add a new person to My Campaign that doesn’t exist in My Voters. Click “Add New Person.”

  1. We must do this as infrequently as possible.

  2. If you create a new My Campaign record and know that the individual is not a registered voter (under aged, visiting from another state or country, etc) please add the activist code “Not Registered”. See the “My Campaign Activist Codes and Volunteer Profile” guide for guidance.

Step 9: Enter the person’s information. You must have at least their full name, address, and one method of contact (phone number or email address) to add a new person.

Step 10: Once someone has a My Campaign Record, you can then view and add Survey Responses and Activist Codes on their record, fill out their Volunteer Profile, and schedule them for events.
