In State Movers

Similar to the 'Party Switchers' custom field, the 'In-State Movers' custom field was created by comparing the most recent voter file updates with past ones to identify those voters who have moved within the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Voters who moved into Kentucky from another state will now appear in this custom field.

Once these have been identified in the analytics warehouse, these voters are bulk uploaded into Votebuilder with their moved date to create the In-State Movers custom field.

To select in-state movers, choose “In State Movers” from the Custom Contact Fields under “Voter File Appends.”  From there, users can select a date range type from the “In State Move Date From” and designate a date range to choose individuals who have moved within the designated date range.  Please note that the records in this field begin with the first Voter File updated from January 2021 to the present.  Going back further than January 2021 could result in errors.

For example, selecting all the in-state movers of 2022 would look like this:

When using this custom field, users will need to keep in mind that this is all voters who have moved into the area; if the user wants to find just Democrats, they will need to also select 'Democrat' under the 'Party' section in Create A List as shown below:

Educators

The data on Public Education Employees in Kentucky is being consolidated from Activist Codes into Custom Contact Fields under “Voter File Appends” for ease of use.  To select all educators from both 2018 and 2021-22, users will need to use two separate steps.  Selecting both 2018 and 2021-22 educators in the same step will result in educators that appear on both lists, not on either one or the other.

This change will make it easier to identify the educators and will declutter the Activist Codes section for candidates moving forward.
